Earth Day at Great Falls

Many of Potomac’s representatives gathered at the Great Falls on Earth Day.to participate in community activities, clean up and maintenance.  Volunteers, elected officials and others gathered at the Great Falls Tavern, C&O Canal National Historical Park on Earth Day, last Saturday, April 22.

Potomac’s County Councilmember Andrew Friedson said: “Perfect way to kick off Earth Day Weekend at one of my favorite natural resources for Canal Community Day with @COcanalNPS, @CanalTrust, @mkorman @SaraLove4MD @Lkfoley @LaurieASayles. Grateful to all the volunteers committed to safeguarding this natural treasure in our backyard.”

Councilmember at Large Laurie-Anne Sayles said, “Spending #EarthDay by the beautiful C&O Canal for the 16th annual Canal Community Days cleanup event! Thank you @CanalTrust and @NatlParkService Rangers, for your commitment to a litter-free canal and preserving a natural habitat for all to enjoy!”
