The Department of Community and Human Services is offering free tax preparation services to qualifying individuals who live in the City of Alexandria on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. now through April 19 at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Drive). For an appointment, please call 202-830-1480 (English) or 202-869-2999 (Spanish). Limited walk-in spots are available.
Taxpayers may be eligible if their income is below $67,000 for individuals and families. Expert volunteers from Community Tax Aid, Inc. will ensure that taxpayers apply for all applicable credits and deductions, especially the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, which people may not realize they are eligible to receive. Electronic filing is provided.
